Legal Ethical Issues in Instructional Design
In my Legal and Ethics in Instructional Design class, I explored key legal and ethical considerations that impact instructional design. I learned about copyright laws, fair use, and the importance of giving proper credit when using existing materials. We discussed the ethical responsibility of instructional designers to create honest, original content and follow legal guidelines. The course emphasized that while laws provide a framework, ethical decision-making often requires considering what is fair and responsible beyond just what is legal.

As part of the course, I developed my own Best Practices guide, outlining key principles for maintaining legal and ethical integrity in instructional design. I also created a Code of Ethics that reflects my personal and professional values, focusing on fairness, respect for intellectual property, and maintaining transparency in instructional content. My Instructional Design Plan applied these legal and ethical concepts to a real world training scenario, reinforcing the importance of ethical decision making in instructional design.
