Throughout my Issues in Instructional Design class, I explored various current trends and challenges shaping the field. One of the most significant topics was the role of AI in instructional design. AI is changing how we develop and deliver training by automating content creation, personalizing learning experiences, and streamlining course development. However, it also raises concerns about ethics, job security, and ensuring that learning remains human-centered. Another key topic was digital storytelling, which stood out as a powerful way to make learning more engaging and meaningful. This course made me realize how much instructional design is evolving with technology and how important it is to stay adaptable and open to new strategies.
One of the most engaging projects I worked on was a script for a digital storytelling training designed to help teachers promote confidence in their students. Another key artifact was a training developed using backward design, which helped me think more strategically about structuring lessons by focusing on desired learning outcomes first. Lastly, I created an animated video using Vyond to share my personal perspective on the role of an instructional designer.
